What we do

The Civil Protection Associations are the central information hub for crisis preparedness and preventive civil protection in Austria. We pool knowledge, coordinate information and develop offers for the entire population. This creates a platform that connects the population, authorities and emergency organizations.

Our aim is to provide people with reliable information and practical assistance to enable them to prepare themselves and others for crises in the best possible way. In doing so, we focus on values such as trust, credibility and proximity. Whether private households, schools, companies or municipalities – we reach all target groups and promote a culture of preparedness and personal responsibility.

The Civil Protection Associations not only act as mediators between stakeholders, but are also the central point of contact for all questions relating to security and prevention. With over 60 years of experience, we make civil protection accessible to everyone – comprehensible, practical and forward-looking.

Our vision is clear: a networked and informed society. That’s why our motto is: “Our strength: your protection.”

  • Imparting knowledge and skills in self-preparedness
  • Promotion of the idea of self-protection in the context of civilian national defense

These statutory tasks were unanimously adopted by the National and Federal Council in 2023.
